Find out about volunteering at the Museum!
Monday 8th May 2 to 5pm
Please come and see us to find out what’s involved in opening the museum to visitors (Easter – end of Sept) and in any other of these activities that interest you.
From 2 to 3pm find out about helping with school visits and handling workshops.
From 2 to 5pm learn about our archive and collections, including a large number of photographs that need digitising, collating, and cataloguing, as well as taking – could you help? This work continues throughout the year, not just when the museum is open.
Do you have a background in retailing? We have a small gift shop which is an important source of income.
You may not be able to volunteer during our usual opening hours, but what about welcoming groups of visitors who come out of hours?
Could you help with creating displays, IT and admin tasks, social media?
We hope to see you, but if you can’t come on 8th May, please email museum@dorchester-abbey.org.uk for further information and a chat.
