Closing dorchesteronthames.co.uk

A notice from the Parish Council:

Hello Residents of Dorchester,

You may have seen that the Parish Council has a new website, https://dorchesteronthames-pc.gov.uk/
The new website enables me, as the relatively new Clerk, to manage content for myself on behalf of the council as well as making it compliant with statutory local government regulations and best practice for councils.

I have already added much of the content from the old site to the new one but there are still a few areas to go. In particular I will be in touch shortly with clubs and societies to get their permission to add them, including their contact email addresses and telephone numbers, to the new site.

In the meantime the Parish Council has agreed to close the old site down dorchesteronthames.co.uk both to avoid the confusion of having two sites but also to save the cost of duplication. The old site is due close as soon as all the necessary administration is done and final checks that permissible contend has been transferred. This is likely to be within the next week .

I, and the Parish Council, would like to thank Dan for his brilliant support over many years in managing the old site, his hard work in support of the community in Dorchester is much appreciated.

Jenny Welham Parish Clerk email parishclerk@dorechesteronthames-pc.gov.uk

NOTE also that the email bulletin from the old site will be ending and if you wish to continue to get emails with updates of news please do subscribe by completing the form at https://dorchesteronthames-pc.gov.uk/

As a quick follow up from the parish councils post, I wanted to say that it has been a pleasure to maintain the village site over the last 8 or so years, and I hope that I can find other ways to continue with our community and assist online (whether through websites or something else). If anyone in the village wants to talk with me about such things, please do get in touch.

Dan Duke
