You may have seen in this week’s local press that Oxfordshire County Council has begun the consultation process for four schemes under the ‘Didcot and Surrounding Area Infrastructure Improvement’ heading. This package of infrastructure improvements in Didcot and the surrounding area has no direct impact upon our Parish but Dorchester residents will certainly notice the difference and may wish to comment.
The four schemes are:
- A4130 widening
- Science Bridge
- Didcot to Culham River Crossing
- Clifton Hampden Bypass
The four scheduled exhibitions have all been cancelled due to the present Public Health Emergency and so the consultation period is being conducted entirely on line. Please see www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/didcotupdate.
The consultation ends on 16 April 2020 at 11.59 p.m.
Best regards,
Geoff

Historical Society talks – POSTPONED
The March/April/May Historical Society talks have been postponed until the pandemic situation is clearer. Our membership/regular attendees are in the ‘vulnerable’ category, and we don’t want to take any risks.
CORONAVIRUS / COVID-19
It looks like the new variant of virus is spreading rapidly, we are in lockdown again, and some of us will be self-isolating over the next few weeks and months. Please do look out for vulnerable neighbours, give them a call, offer to do shopping to leave on their doorstep, collect prescriptions, post letters for them etc
We know Dorchester does this type of thing anyway but please make an extra effort in the days ahead.
The HSE have now created a dedicated Coronavirus page for businesses here: https://www.hse.gov.uk/news/coronavirus.htm
This should be used in conjunction with the NHS information here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
During the current Coronavirus epidemic, the village website will be kept regularly updated and should be the first point of information for how it is affecting life in Dorchester. Log on regularly to find out what is happening at www.dorchesteronthames.co.uk

The spring flower show is cancelled
We are sorry to announce that the Spring Flower Show has been cancelled, due to the Coronavirus.
Apart from the possible dangers from people gathering in an enclosed space, we could not guarantee to have sufficient experienced judges (one has already withdrawn) or sufficient people to organise and run the show. Some of the committee members work in essential services.
The Autumn Flower Show will be on the 12th September. Please put the date in your diaries and we look forward to seeing you all then.
