New walks from the village. Ideas?

We are trying to create a better list of things to do in the village, and have started with adding a few new walks. Originally we just had the one on the site, but have got a couple more ideas now. But why stop there? Please suggest any walks you particularly like in the area, and if they seem like good walks once we try them, we will add them to the site.

Appeal for artefacts and photographs from Dorchester Abbey and the Museum

Do you have something which represents a time in the life of the village? We plan to illustrate each decade from 1920s to 2010s to bring our community’s history to life. Events, groups, families and individuals, businesses, built-environment, the landscape, schools, sport etc.

Artefacts may be brought to the museum any day between 1400 and 1700 until Monday, June 6th. The items will be displayed and curated by the Museum curator and volunteer stewards during the museum’s opening hours which will be throughout the time of the exhibition. We will ask you to fill out a short form so that we can reunite the item with you safely after the event.
Photographs may be scanned by arrangement so that you keep the precious original and we have photographs of viewable size to display. Please contact Denise Line on 07596 524335 by Sunday, May 29th to make arrangements if you wish your photograph to be displayed.

WERE YOU BORN IN 1926? ‘HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER BORN IN 2016?

Please join in the special opening celebration on Thursday, June 9th. Please contact either Denise Line on 07596 524335 or The Parish Office on 01865 340905. Transport can be arranged, if you wish.
